JOURNEY THROUGH TIME: DISCOVER Africa HIDDEN TREASURES!

Africa is an extraordinary continent, home to some of the oldest civilizations in the world. It is rich in culture, diversity, and history, making it a remarkable place to explore. From its stunning wildlife to its diverse geography, Africa offers a wealth of fascinating facts that highlight its incredible nature.

It is the second-largest continent and is only smaller than Asia. It is one of the world’s seven continents.

Home to 54 countries, including Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ethiopia.

The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world and the third largest desert overall, more diminutive than Antarctica’s deserts and the northern Arctic.

The Nile is home to the world’s longest river. Although some researchers argue that the Amazon may be longer, the Nile is currently considered the longest river globally. It flows through several African countries and serves as the primary water source for Egypt, Sudan, and South Sudan.

Most diamonds and about half of the world’s gold are sourced from Africa, accounting for around 95 percent and 50 percent, respectively.

Seventy percent of the world’s cocoa beans are produced in four West African countries: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Cocoa beans are processed to make chocolate.

The earliest ancestors of modern humans originated in Africa, often called the “Cradle of Humankind.” This designation comes from the numerous fossils and tools in the region indicating that early human life began there. These early humans are known as the first homo sapiens, the species to which we belong.

Approximately 1.2 billion people reside in Africa, which accounts for 16% of the world’s population.

There are over 2,000 different languages spoken in Africa, with Arabic being the most widely spoken.

Beware of hippos in Africa. Hippos attack more people than any other animal on the continent! They are very protective, so if you see a hippo, leave it alone.
